Youth Leadership Summit Featuring Keynote Speaker Jeff Yalden from MTV’s MADE
Who: Open to Student Organizations and Youth ages 14-18 **
When: Tuesday, July 28, 2009 - 8AM -5PM
Location: Embassy Suites Hotel,
1000 Woodward Place NW,
Albuquerque, NM 87102
Why: To provide young student leaders with the knowledge, skills and vision
to make healthy decisions and to impact their peers and campus cultures.
Cost: The event is FREE but space is limited.
Registration forms are due by July 17, 2009
**MADD New Mexico will pay for transportation for groups outside of Albuquerque who sign up 15 or more students.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
The goal of this summit is to educate local student leaders about the effects of alcohol on their developing brains, to give them the tools they need to make a positive change in their communities, and to ensure the underage drinking laws are being enforced by the community in which we live. It includes several workshops and speakers on youth advocacy, alcohol awareness, and leadership skills. Lunch will be provided.
Jeff Yalden has presented for the likes of SADD, FBLA, STUCO, FCCLA, SEARCH INSTITUTE, The National PRIDE World Drug-Free Conference, National Speakers Association, National Student Council, and more.
